Jokkmokk and photo opportunity at the Arctic Circle

Monday September 12, 10.00 – 18.00 (Approx 8 hours)

Jokkmokk is located 170 km northwest of Luleå, above the Arctic Circle. We drive through the Lapland countryside and on the way to Jokkmokk we make a stop at the Arctic Circle for photo opportunities.

Guided tour at Ájtte Sami museum in Jokkmokk. Here you can learn about the Sami history and modernity. There are also varied shopping opportunities with a large assortment of quality crafts.

Please register not later than August 10. After deadline we get back to you with information and cost (approx. cost 1000 SEK per person). A minimum of 20 participants 

 

Storforsen - a rapid in the Pite River which is one of the biggest in Europe

Tuesday September 13, 10.00 – 16.00 (Approx 6 hours)

Private coach transfer from Luleå, approx. 1.5 hr. Guided walk along the rapids.

Lunch at Storforsen Hotel, with a nice view of the rapid.

Please register not later than August 10. After deadline we get back to you with information and cost (approx. cost 600 SEK per person). A minimum of 15 participants is required for the tour to be realized.

 

The world heritage site of Gammelstad church town

Wednesday September 14, 11.00 - 14.00 (Approx 3 hours)

Guided sightseeing of Old town by foot, including visit the medieval church.

Gammelstad is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List together with nearly 600 other cultural and natural environments.

Gammelstad is an outstanding example of a Northern Scandinavian church town. More than 400 cottages, which were used on Sundays and during major religious festivals, markets and local courts, are grouped around the late medieval stone church in Gammelstad.

A delicious lunch will be served in the rustic restaurant Kaptensgården (The Captain's Manor). Classic ingredients from the region are blended with international tastes and influences.
